Dear members,
Summer is approaching, and with it the beginning of our programme season! Before everyone heads off, we would like to share with you the highlights of this spring, the preparations of our delegations, and the upcoming dates to keep in mind.
Spring Minicamp
Our spring minicamp in Arzier brought together JB and children for a warm, dynamic and much‑appreciated weekend from 24 to 26 April.
The activities prepared by the JB and the leaders gave participants a real taste of camp life: cooperative games, thematic activities, reflection sessions, and plenty of time outdoors thanks to the beautiful weather.
Feedback from children and families was extremely positive: a caring atmosphere, high‑quality activities, and a true CISV spirit. Delegations also enjoyed spending time together.
A special mention goes to our volunteers in the kitchen and cleaning team, coordinated by Maristella: the food was delicious and the facilities were spotless! As a reminder, volunteer support is essential for the smooth running of our minicamps, so we continue to count on all of you for the months ahead.
March and May Trainings: Activity Planning & Risk Management
As part of camp preparation, two essential trainings were organised for leaders, staff, and participants in the SU14, SU15 and Seminar programmes:
- 8 March: training on activity planning, group dynamics, and CISV pedagogy.
- 9 May: training dedicated to Risk Management, safety procedures, and handling sensitive situations.
These sessions enabled teams to strengthen their skills, exchange best practices, and prepare confidently for their roles this summer.
Reminder: the CISV International online Safeguarding training is required for any adult volunteering at a camp site. We encourage you to complete it, not only because it is mandatory, but also to familiarise yourself with how CISV ensures the safety and well‑being of all participants.
Day Camp
The Day Camp held at Arsen’Alt in Fribourg brought together many children for fun and intercultural activities.
Our president Marine briefed participants on updates from CISV International, and our Risk Manager Sophia reviewed the Safeguarding rules to ensure safety throughout our programmes.
It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect and kick off the spring energy around a hearty Canadian‑style meal!
CISV International
Since the beginning of the year, CISV International has been working to strengthen Safeguarding measures and ensure their consistent application. Risk Management rules have been clarified and new ones have been added. CISV Switzerland is committed to following these developments, continuing to ensure participant safety and well‑being, and maintaining transparent communication with CISV International.
Volunteers Needed !
“It takes a village…” As you know, we could not offer our camps without your valuable help. We rely on all our members to support the next summer camp, which we are organising from 5 to 19 July in Arzier, Switzerland.
Our children are thoroughly cared for during their camps abroad, and we do our best to ensure that their experience here is just as smooth and aligned with CISV values.
Just like the staff team who looks after the children’s well‑being, we need you to help make their daily life on site easier: welcoming the delegations on their arrival and departure days (5 and 19 July) and accompanying them to the campsite, helping with the set‑up on the first day (5 July) or cleaning the building on the last day (19 July), assisting our professional cook (2–3 hours every morning), or taking on other tasks necessary for the smooth running of the camp. You can already sign up as volunteers according to your availability by registering here.
Thank you in advance for your commitment, which is essential to the success of the camp!
Save the Date
After a full and lively spring, here are the next dates to note:

We look forward to seeing you there and wish you a wonderful CISV summer!
