A new CISV Switzerland season is beginning! This autumn newsletter features a recap of our 2026 camps and Family Day, open committee positions, and news from CISV International.

Don’t forget to mark the dates for upcoming gatherings in the “Save the Date” section at the very end. As a reminder, our General Assembly (GA) will take place on November 1st at 11:30 AM in Arzier—we hope to see many of you there! Please sign up via the form below.

Also, a quick reminder: we are still looking for two girls born in 2015 for the Winter Village in Thailand, running from December 20th to January 16th!

Wishing you a wonderful autumn!

Recap of 2026 international Camps

Twenty-three young people enjoyed fantastic CISV experiences in the summer of 2026: a Village in Norway, two Youth Meetings in Finland and Switzerland, two Step Ups in Spain and Portugal, and three spots at Seminars in Norway and the United Kingdom.

Our international camps all went wonderfully well, and both participants and leaders returned absolutely delighted! We extend our heartfelt thanks to our amazing leaders for their volunteer commitment!

RECAP of YM Switzerland 2026

The Youth Meeting in Arzier was a huge success, thanks in particular to a fantastic team of local and international staff who did an amazing job—shout-out to Clémence, Leo, Tellem, Ana, Anette, and Tsvetelina!

A huge THANK YOU also goes to all the volunteers who helped welcome participants, worked in the kitchen, provided babysitting during the “leaders’ night out,” and assisted with camp cleanup and laundry. Beyond the time you dedicated to making the camp possible, some of you traveled from very far away—so, well done!

Without your help, CISV Switzerland wouldn’t be able to organize the local camps that, in turn, allow us to receive invitations from CISV International for camps abroad. Please know that your volunteer commitment is essential to us!

As a reminder, our 2027 Youth Meeting will take place from July 3 to 17—so please mark your calendars!

Family Day 26.09.2026

It was a pleasure to see many of you again at our traditional Family Day at Arsen’Alt in Fribourg on September 26th.

A big thank you to our Junior Branch for organizing—as always—fantastic activities that allow new families to discover CISV and “veterans” to enjoy good times together while sharing camp memories!

We recharged with a delicious potluck picnic and then took the opportunity to explore the lovely city of Fribourg on a beautiful sunny day, following a route with various stops that let us brush up on our CISV knowledge!

CISV International

The Members’ Assembly took place in Milan in early August. It was a meeting requested by member countries, to which delegations from all CISV chapters were invited. Floriane, our national representative, attended. The aim was to come together to discuss the challenges experienced in recent years and to take the time to consider the perspectives of the various countries. The goal was also to reflect on the future of CISV in the medium and long term, so that we can continue to offer the camps that mean so much to all of us!

Committee Positions Available - Candidates Needed !

The CISV Switzerland Committee oversees the smooth running of activities and manages relations with CISV International throughout the year. A close-knit team of volunteers has handled these various tasks for several years, but it is time for a refresh, and we are counting on your volunteer commitment to ensure the next generation takes over!

You don’t need to commit a huge amount of time; you can volunteer for a role that suits your interests and abilities, dedicating as much time as you are able—you will always be welcome! If you are unsure, please feel free to contact us to discuss a role that might be a good fit for you.

The positions to be filled at the November General Assembly are as follows:

  • President
  • National Association Representative (NAR)
  • National Secretary
  • National Risk Manager (Support Function)
  • Fundraising Coordinator
  • Webmaster
  • Storage of food supplies (tinned goods, cleaning products)

You can find out more about the various roles on the CISV Switzerland website here. We look forward to welcoming you to the committee!
